I was here for a yoga retreat for 11 nights. The yoga retreat was fabulous, but my review needs to focus on Bagus Jati. Yes!! Just say YES to this beautiful and sweet place. You are quite literally surrounded by nature, jungle, rivers and peace. My room, 303, was so comfortable, the grounds of this retreat are stunningly beautiful and the food is all grown on the grounds - it's amazing!
The spa... I could not ask for more accommodating and talented therapists. I tried several different treatments while staying there and each one was unique.
The pool. That pool. It's stunning.
Be prepared for the stairs and hills. You are in the jungle. They were always accommodating with golf carts to come and get you, which I used after spa treatments - but otherwise, I climbed. It was a great workout and a wonderful way to experience all the nature that is nurtured here.
Buddha was a fantastic guide. Everyone I interacted with at Bagus Jati was helpful, friendly and easy.
Bagus Jati is peaceful, quiet and wonderfully set in nature on the hillside of a tropical forest, far away from the touristy crowds seen in much of Bali. We had a gorgeous terrace looking out over the entire valley and could see the sun rise and set every day. The grounds are beautifully laid out, with stone steps and paths winding through gardens, pavilions and water features so typical of Bali's beauty. There is also a wonderful spring fed pool and lovely spa. The entire time one has the feeling of being surrounded by nature and gardens and balinese architecture. The attention to detail is very touching with bowls filled with flowers dotted throughout the gardens and rooms. The resort is wide spread which gives a nice feeling of space and privacy, some guests might have issues with the distances and number of steps. That said, there are buggies to pick up guests any time. We however did enjoy the long walks up and down the gardens.
The staff were all extremely thoughtful and kind, from the reception to the restaurants, the spa staff and cleaning staff, the service by the pool, the yoga teachers...everyone was attentive, warm and kind. A special thanks to reception for giving us room 106 as an upgrade, it made our ten days very special.
We enjoyed yoga every morning and afternoon and the yoga room itself made the lessons blissful with the sound of waterfalls, birds, and the panorama of the forest. The lessons themselves were very good.
The food was wonderful, many choices on the menu and an excellent breakfast that was served at your table, which is much nicer than a buffet. The restaurant staff were lovely and always a pleasure to exchange words with.
There are many activities offered, for example nature walks, yoga, temple visits and ceremonies. There is also a shuttle service to take you into Ubud.
The spa services were excellent and very professional.
*It should be noted, we travelled during the low season, which meant there weren't many guests in the entire hotel. This naturally enhanced the feeling of peace and quiet which we quite enjoyed. On our last night a large group arrived, I'm not sure how the atmosphere would have changed had the hotel been full.
I am a yoga studio owner and retreat leader from Johns Creek, GA, USA. I brought a group of 26 people to Bagus Jati 2 weeks ago, and I was overwhelmed by the incredible service and attention to detail provided by the staff throughout our time.
The grounds and facilities at Bagus Jati are breathtakingly beautiful and provide a full immersion into true Balinese culture, complete with a large sacred temple, daily offerings of flowers and incense and meticulously manicured gardens. I had visited last year, and this is what impressed me the most, but having fully immersed there for a week, I must say that the beauty of the staff far exceeds the beauty of the landscape.
I had been in close communication with the resort manager, Nyoman, prior to our arrival, and his careful planning, excellent record keeping and coordination made everything go incredibly smoothly...from multiple airport pick-ups and transfers, to planning excursions, to room preparation for our yoga practices and meetings.
Our group included a number of people with special dietary needs, all of which were attended to at every single meal. The restaurant manager, Styawan, was a highlight of the trip with his careful menu preparation, but he really went above and beyond our expectations when he invited us into his home when we went to his village for the Ogah Ogah celebration before Nyepi.
Finally...a special mention to our tour guide, Buddha who shared his culture with us on every outing, climbed Mount Batur, walked us through numerous temples, shared a bike ride and led us in multiple blessing ceremonies at the temple. His joyful demeanor and deep knowledge of both the area and culture left us all with a new appreciation for the Balinese people in general.
Thank you to the entire staff at Bagus Jati for a wonderful week!
This hotel is everything you may wish for if you need to get away and recharge. Get away from technology or stay as connected as you want to. They offer multiple activities that connect you with the local culture.. temples surround this magical place. A set up for relaxation... surrounded by the jungle and magical nature from Bali. Culture is respectful, happy and harmonious. A place to visit in Bali. Massages are AMAZING! Ubud is just 30 min away and the hotels has shuttles. They include nature walks, spa oil recipes with natural ingredients, amazing food - mostly vegetarian but with non vegetarian options.
Awalnya ragu sama hotel ini tapi ternyta tidak setelah proses checkin yang cepat dan juga staf hotel yang ramah membuat tamu semakin nyaman nginap di hotel ini, lokasi tidak stategis tapi mudah ditemukan
